Self-Laminating Wrap-Around Labels

A printed panel plus a clear tail that wraps over the print and seals it under a protective film — durable, long-term identification for terminated cable.

Self-laminating wrap-around label applied to a cable, clear tail sealing the print area.

What it is

A self-laminating wrap-around label pairs a printable panel — usually opaque white — with a longer clear tail. You print the panel, wrap the label around the cable, and the clear tail laminates over the printed area, sealing your text beneath a transparent protective film.

Once applied, the label spins freely around the cable jacket, so it stays in place without restricting movement during installation or service.

How it works

  1. 01

    Clean

Wipe the cable jacket with isopropyl alcohol so the adhesive bonds cleanly.

  2. 02

    Peel

Remove the label from the liner without touching the adhesive face.

  3. 03

    Apply

Position the printed panel against the cable at the marking point.

  4. 04

    Wrap

Wind the clear tail fully around so it over-laminates the print and seals it.

Why choose it

  • The over-laminate protects the print from abrasion, dirt, oils, solvents, water, and repeated handling.
  • Strong long-term durability suits terminated cable, fixed installations, and longer-lasting or outdoor runs.
  • The printed area stays legible for the service life of the cable, not just the first inspection.

Materials

  • Self-laminating vinyl — highly conformable and self-extinguishing; a strong general-purpose choice.
  • Polyester (PET) — wider temperature range with chemical and UV resistance for more demanding service.
  • Permanent acrylic adhesive with water and oil resistance as the workhorse bond.

FAQ

Will the printed text rub off over time?

The clear tail over-laminates the print, so the marking sits under a protective film rather than on an exposed surface. That is the core reason to choose this format for long-term or harsh-handling installs.

Can I print these on my own thermal-transfer printer?

Yes. We supply printer-ready blanks sized to your cable range, and we can also deliver finished custom-printed parts if you prefer not to print in-house.

How do I pick the right size?

Sizing follows cable outer diameter (or AWG). Share your range on the quote form and we will recommend a part, or see our AWG sizing guide.
