Material selection by environment

Material is the decision that determines whether a marker survives its environment. These are the workhorses and where each fits.

The materials

  • Vinyl — flexible, conformable, self-extinguishing; a good general-purpose wrap-around.
  • Polyester (PET) — wide temperature range (approx. −40 to +150 °C) with chemical and UV resistance; durable wrap-around and flag.
  • Polyolefin (heat-shrink) — flame-retardant, approx. −55 to +135 °C, military/aerospace grade.
  • LSZH / zero-halogen — low smoke and fume for fire-safety-critical spaces such as rail, marine, and transit.

Adhesive

A permanent acrylic adhesive with oil and water resistance is the workhorse bond behind both wrap-around and flag labels.

A note on figures

The temperature ranges above are typical material values for orientation. The certified figures for a specific product are confirmed on its technical data sheet — shown on our product pages as [FILL FROM TDS].
